SMS believes that women are at the focal point of any society and her well being reflects that of the society in general. SMS is actively working to strengthen marginalized people (especially women) to have better bargaining power through capacity building and become an identity of the mainstream. A need for social change was strongly felt which could be brought about only through holistic interventions. SMS realized that a single project could not ensure human rights, dignity and gender equity. All-round development can be achieved through an integrated approach which strives to create an environment that permits the poor to break out of the vicious cycle of poverty.
